KANSAS CITY, Ks- Two Illinois men were killed in a car accident on Monday in Champaign.

The two men who were killed are University of Illinois professor Michael Andrews, 50, and his 20 year-old-son, Sam, who were traveling from his home to the University of Illinois when his car hit another on White Avenue, killing Michael on impact before his son succumbed to injuries later at Charles Hospital, police said.

Champaign police chief Andy Schultz said, “We are investigating whether the driver of the car was drunk. If he is found drunk, we will act according to the law of the land.” The driver was arrested and was identified as Mike Terrace, 35, a cook at a nearby restaurant, police said.

Tina Andrews, the wife of the deceased professor, said, “Both my husband and son are gone. I never thought life will be so harsh on me.”
